Due to continued success and a growing reputation within the industry, Cocksedge has become a "go-to" building contractor for many clients across the East Anglian region.
Recent wins include sought after places on major construction frameworks for Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils and UEA Norwich, complex projects for a number of Colleges across the University of Cambridge, as well as various schemes for both old and new clients within the commercial, residential and healthcare sectors, resulting in a group turnover approaching £60m.
Steve Nugent, Managing Director, has always acknowledged that the success of the company is heavily linked to the staff’s “hands-on, can-do” attitude. This runs across all operating levels, from assisting client’s and consultants with buildability and cost options, efficiently and safely managing site logistics, and continuously producing high-quality, awarding winning buildings, with a skilled in-house trades workforce.
Steve and his co-directors, Justin Buckingham and Tim Grant see the staff’s partnering ethos as the key to repeat and new business, allowing sustainable and controlled growth. With this in mind, they have taken the decision to place ownership of the company in the hands of its employees, by creating an Employee Ownership Trust. Whilst the company’s directors, management structure and winning formula will remain unchanged, the new Employee Ownership Trust is designed to protect Cocksedge’s interests and ensure the hard work and dedication shown by each and every valued member of staff is recognised, resulting in a strong and successful future, working collaboratively with our clients, for many years to come.
