We are delighted to have been appointed by YMCA Norfolk to transform a former hall, previously used by the Royal British Legion, into an innovative and exciting hub for community use at Aylsham Road, Norwich.
The alteration and refurbishment project will provide a new centre, which will be open to all members of the local community, offering a range of services focused around families including a community cafe, children's nursery and soft-play centre, and a multi use space for youth clubs. The development will also see YMCA Norfolk move their offices to the site, as part of a long-term commitment to the area.
Talking about the scheme, Tim Sweeting, YMCA Norfolk Chief Executive said: "We are really excited to be annoucing our plans to invest £2m in the future of this part of Norwich. This high quality development offers a range of services that will enable us to bring local people together and develop more oppurtunities for them to fulfil their potential. As an organisation founded in Norfolk in 1856, we are commited to strengthening communities over the long-term and believe that the provision of education, employment, positive activities and leisure space will really make a difference".
We will be working with Daniel Connal Partnership and LSI Architects to deliver the project, which is due to start on site early in 2020.
