The project involved the transformation of a disused community centre to provide a temporary accommodation centre for up to 35 residents supporting them back into long term housing. The repurposing of the derelict 1960’s building included replacing all flat roof coverings with highly insulated materials and insulating all external walls to optimise running costs. Additionally, photo-voltaic panels have been installed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels to assist with schemes EPC rating of B.
The new floor layouts provide self-contained accommodation with communal activity spaces. The project was awarded the prize for Excellence in Sustainability at the 2022 Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards.
