The project, as part of Norfolk County Council’s Framework for Construction Works, comprised construction of a standalone 2-classbase Teaching Hub, situated in close proximity to the existing Victorian school. The new building was formed with a contractor designed, prefabricated timber frame superstructure, erected over a pre-cast beam and block floor. External finishes include rain-screen and facing-brick cladding with a standing seam roof.
Early engagement with our supply-chain specialists ensured the timber frame was well coordinated and delivered two weeks ahead of programme. Varying ground levels required construction of a sequential ramp providing access for all. The project was completed within a live school environment, demanding stringent management of all deliveries, noise, vibration and safeguarding measures, allowing the school to remain fully operational throughout the project.
