Project Scope

Remodelling & Refurbishment of a former British Legion Hall

Approximate Value

£1.4 million

Client

YMCA Norfolk

Completion Date

March 2021
BRIEF OVERVIEW

The project involved the transformation of a redundant British Legion Hall constructed in the 1960’s with an innovative design to form a New Community Hub. The new centre offers a range of services focused on families who live in the area, including a community café named Williams’ Kitchen in honor of YMCA founder George Williams, a children’s nursery complete with soft-play facilities, and a multi-use space suitable for community activities such as youth clubs and wellbeing groups.

The Hub also includes office accommodation which has become the new base for YMCA Norfolk’s management team. General building works included careful demolitions, formation of new structural openings, steelwork modifications, re-roofing and extensive building fabric repairs. The new services installations have been installed by ABS our in-house M&E divisions and the fit-out works included feature door surrounds, bespoke cabinetry and a commercial grade kitchen.
