We have aligned our carbon reporting cycle with the Company’s baseline reporting financial year-end of 31st December 2021 and, thereafter, will provide an annual report of our greenhouse gases emissions for each year up to 2030. This baseline data is a reference point against which our annual reduction in emissions can be measured and reported to assess the effectiveness of our planned current and future carbon reduction initiatives as we head towards carbon neutrality.
As detailed in our published Carbon Reduction Policy Statement, we are conducting an ongoing review of all business operations, in partnership with our suppliers, setting realistic carbon reduction targets for each department, including the procurement of 100% sustainable electricity across our owned offices and on construction sites where we can select our energy supplier, an overall reduction in electricity and water usage and a reduction in waste within the business including the promotion of recycling initiatives.
To evidence our commitment, 2022 has seen the Company make a major investment in the shift towards electric vehicles with the introduction of a fleet of 10 EV company cars. This investment also includes vehicle charging points at our main offices and includes plans to install EV points as part of the temporary infrastructure for new construction sites in 2023.
As a business we are fully committed to the ongoing reduction of our carbon footprint and will continue to proactively review our Carbon Reduction Plan and associated strategies against planned targets with updates reported annually from 2023 onwards.
