The new centre at Aylsham Road, Norwich has been designed to offer a range of services focused on families who live in the area, including a community café, named Williams’ Kitchen in honor of YMCA founder George Williams, a children’s nursery and soft-play centre, and a multi-use space for youth clubs. The development will also see YMCA Norfolk move their offices to the site, as part of a long-term commitment to the under resourced area of the city.
When accepting the keys, Tim Sweeting, YMCA Norfolk CEO, said: “It has been great to work with Cocksedge Building Contractors, LSI Architects and Daniel Connal Partnership who have all done a fantastic job converting the old British Legion building into a space that will serve the community of Norwich for many decades to come”.
