T-Level Qualifications are open for 16 to 19-year-olds as an alternative to A-Levels and Apprenticeships. Equivalent to 3 A-Levels, a T-Level focuses on vocational skills and can help students into skilled employment or higher study.
Oliver, who is taking the T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction, will spend 80% of his course in the classroom at City College Norwich and 20% with Cocksedge gaining valuable industry experience across a variety of our job roles by shadowing a Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor and a Site Manager.
On his first day as part of the team Oliver said “I’m looking forward to spending part of my course away from College and seeing what working in construction is all about”. Darren Reeve, Cocksedge’s Commercial and Business Development Manager also commented “The new T-Level Qualification is ideal as the first step on the ladder for young people interested in a career in construction. We hope Oliver enjoys his first look at the industry and we are pleased to be working with City College Norwich so students can begin to develop their technical skills, which will hopefully mean they take up a role locally in construction in the not-too-distant future”
